Crown of Hearts
Red and pink construction paper or cardstock
Craft jewellry or sequins
Cut out a 2 inch strip of pink construction paper. Measure this to fit around your child's head. You may need to add extra length from another identical strip. Tape the ends together. Draw and cut out 8 to 10 hearts that are about 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. Glue the hearts onto the strip of paper with the points of the hearts facing up. Decorate your crown with a craft jewel or sequin on each heart.
Valentine Crafts for Kids:Table Decorating Ideas
Set a pretty Valentine's table with these festive ideas:
Craft Stick Messages
These craft sticks have messages printed on them and can be added to a table centerpiece. Some ideas for table centerpieces could be a bouquet of flowers or in a gift bag of Valentine wishes.
red construction paper or cardstock
craft sticks(tongue depressors)
markers, glitter pens, crayons or stickers
small plain paper gift bag(about 4 inches by 6 inches)
red, pink or white tissue paper
Cut out several heart shapes(each heart 2 inches by 2 inches) from the red construction paper. An easy and quicker way to do this is to fold the construction paper into rectangles (accordian style). Draw a few heart shapes and cut them out with the remaining construction paper still folded into rectangles. Print Valentine messages on the back of the craft sticks such as"Pick me, U-R-Cool, Be Mine", or whatever you like. Glue the paper hearts to the front of the craft sticks. Decorate the front of the sticks with markers, glitter pens, crayons or stickers. Decorate the gift bag as well. Place some red, white or pink tissue paper in the bag and arrange the craft sticks on top of the tissue so you can see them sticking up out of the bag. Now you have finished your gift bag of wishes.
Heart Napkin Rings
empty toilet paper roll
red and pink felt or red and pink construction paper
Mark off four 1-inch sections on the toilet paper roll. Squeeze the roll flat to cut the pieces. Carefully cut the pink felt into strips large enough to cover each napkin ring. Glue a strip of pink felt to each piece. Cut heart shapes out of the red felt. Glue the hearts onto the napkin ring pieces. Let dry.
